The Denver Broncos were purchased this past week by Rob Walton, one of the family owners of Walmart for a staggering $4.65 billion. The purchase is the highest sale of an American professional team, and makes Rob Walton the richest owner in the NFL. The sale of the Broncos is a significant boost for the valuations of NFL teams. The last NFL record sale of a team was in 2018 by the Carolina Panthers for a then record $2.275 billion. This indicates that the NFL as a league is bound to rise much higher in terms of valuation, and also give a major boost to the valuation of 31 other teams in the league. This would allow teams like the Dallas Cowboys who were valued last year at $6.5 billion to see a larger hike in valuation along with other large market NFL franchises.
