On Sunday, October 23rd, former Wisconsin Badger basketball standout Josh Gasser attended a Cyc Fitness exercise class in Madison, WI as part of a sports sponsorship deal reached through OpenSponsorship. The athlete endorsement agreement also included an Instagram post in the days leading up to the event.

Josh’s Instagram post and three-hour attendance sold out multiple Cyc classes. The image also boosted brand awareness, as it was viewed by over 40,000 followers and received over 800 likes and many comments from those who attended.

Can't wait for my first ever @cycfitness class this Sunday, October 23 at 10:30 am. Come ride with myself, @_stephdietz and @sensible_jen to celebrate the 4 year anniversary of CYC. Call the studio to book your bikes! #getcycd #cycmadison #cycmadisonturns4 #onwisconsin

Using athletes like Josh to promote your brand pays massive dividends, like we've shown above. His post brought attention to Cyc Fitness's brand with an engaging call to action encouraging his fans to sign up for their classes, and a comment from his teammate Bronson Koenig surely didn't hurt!

Athletes are valuable brand ambassadors because their fans truly trust the opinions of their favorite athletes. If an athlete believes in your product and endorses it on social media, their fans will certainly be interested in trying it out themselves as well if it is something relevant to them.

If your business has brick-and-mortar locations that you would like to grow exposure for and increase visitors to, visit opensponsorship.com to find athlete brand ambassadors who can do for you what Josh did for Cyc Fitness.
