The 6 foot tall former 11-time all-star, 4-time scoring champion, and league MVP was able to make you feel an array of emotions with his heartfelt acceptance speech. "So many people did so much for me," he said then, explaining that he was as tense as he'd ever been. "I've got to make sure I thank them all."

Some Highlights:

  • He thanked Georgetown coach John Thompson, one of his presenters, with “saving his life”. After an arrest scared off all his college recruiters.
  • He thanked a Georgetown walk-on, Dean Barry, for teaching him the deadly crossover that made him famous. "And he was a walk-on," Iverson said. "He didn't even get his name on the back of his uniform."
  • He thanked Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and Michael Jackson for providing the soundtrack to his career.

Allen Iverson will forever be a basketball LEGEND.

Leicester wins the Premier League

5000 – 1 outsiders to win the title after almost being relegated last season. Leicester City Football Club was able to break through and win the Premier League. The biggest sporting shock in sports history. This is a team spending one-eighth or one-tenth of what the top teams pay for players in the Premier League. The biggest and richest sports teams in the world, teams with spectacular histories, always win the Premier League, but not this year. They truly shook the Premier League and European soccer’s almighty hierarchy. "For a team like Leicester to come and take the giants on with their wealth and experience - not only take them on but to beat them - I think it's the biggest thing to happen in football," said former Premier League champion Alan Shearer.

Landon Donavon return

21 months. That’s how long it took Landon Donavon to end his retirement from soccer and to re-sign with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. Almost two years after walking away following the Galaxy's victory in the 2014 MLS Cup, the all-time leader in goals and assist in both MLS and with the U.S. national team felt as if he still had something to contribute on the pitch and had a desire to play again. The return of the biggest U.S. soccer star helped spark enormous excitement for Major League Soccer.

Breanna Stewart is the G.O.A.T

Four seasons, four championships, four Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four honors, three Naismith Player of the Year trophies, Olympic Gold Medalist. Who else can say that? Before you try to google it I’ll help you out, no one. Before her, no other player had claimed two Most Outstanding Player awards, besides two of her teammates she is the only person to capture four national championships, and only USC great Cheryl Miller could say she had won 3 Naismith trophies. When Stewart came to the University of Connecticut in 2012 she set a high goal by saying, “I want to win four national championships.” In 2016 we saw that she is a woman of her word.
